4 Quieter Coastal Destinations to Visit in Cornwall
With so many great places to stay in Cornwall, choosing something unique and exciting for your holiday is sometimes difficult. If you’ve already visited the major towns and resorts, or you want to get far from the maddening crowds, you need to start looking above and beyond the usual choice of holiday destinations like Newquay, Polzeath and Looe. Here I try to do my best to recommend some truly unique places to visit and hidden gems you may never have discovered before.
Mullion

Way down on the Lizard peninsula, this is a beautiful holiday destination that rarely gets overrun with tourists. The beach is beautiful, the pubs is local and the local Cornwall holiday cottages are incredibly attractive.
Mother Ivey’s

This is a little beach village near Padstow which remains very local, even during the height of summer. It has just one old-fashioned pub, a few cafes and a small car park which limits the number of visitors to the beach. There is also a sick little surfing wave when there is a strong swell running.
Holywell Bay
If you like big sand dunes and golden sandy beach, Holywell bay may be for you. This is a lovely relaxed beach perfect for families. This a spectacular stretch of beach amidst high cliffs and exotic rock formations. The sea is generally rough but the beach is lifeguarded. There are plenty of farm shops and great pubs nearby.
Lantic Bay
If you can get somewhere to stay near Lantic Bay, I recommend you go for it. This is a laid-back location with a lovely sandy beach and great coastal walks in all directions either towards Polperro or the Rame Peninsula. You coulsd visit here for weeks and fell as if you’d left the rest of civilisation. Lantic Bay is heartily recommended for a chilled out holiday in Cornwall.
